Ann’s journey as an educator began in 1990 when she was accepted into Edith Cowan University in Western Australia to undertake a Bachelor of Education. After graduating in 1994, she taught in a number of Australian Government and Independent Schools. In 1997 Ann was delighted to take up a permanent teaching position with The River School.
Ann was drawn to the Neohumanist philosophy of The River School as it aligned beautifully with her personal belief that young people need access to a variety of creative opportunities to positively develop their social, emotional, spiritual, physical and mental capacities.
In the 23 years Ann has been with The River School, she has gained valuable experience in the positions of Senior Teacher, Deputy Principal and current Principal. With her Restorative Practice background and deep passion for education, Ann is honoured to lead The River School on its continued journey of authentic, rich learning assisting our young people to grow into thoughtful global citizens who choose to make positive contributions to the world.
